Idelsi Botex is the Director of Administration in the Dean’s Office at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. In this role, she oversees administrative operations, financial management, and strategic support for the Dean and executive leadership. Idelsi has extensive experience in organizational management, operational strategy, and cross-functional coordination within complex academic environments. She is currently completing her degree at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, where her capstone research focuses on strategic management and organizational competitiveness. Outside of her professional work, Idelsi is a devoted mother and daughter, and an excellent cook who enjoys bringing people together through food and family.

I have always enjoyed working with people and figuring out what "makes them tick". I also enjoy efficiency and have strived to make my workplace environment more productive since my first job at Kings County Hospital at 14. I currently work as a Community School Director for a middle school of 1,600 students and have been doing that work for 9 years. I have almost 20 years of experience being a middle manager, which has given me extensive first hand knowledge for my presentation.

Ain't I a Writer?: How the Exclusion of Black Women Dramatists in Theatre Perpetuates the Misrepresentation of Black Women in the Social Consciousness

Joël is an actor, dramatist and lyricist whose work amplifies Black women and challenges their imposed societal identities. Her musical 2&1: A Harlem Love Story with Loose Morals composed by Jenna Gillespie Byrd, which centers queer Black women during the Harlem Renaissance was a 2023 Eugene O’Neill Finalist, and a 2022 Relentless Award Honorable Mention. Through a grant from the NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music and Theatre she produced a concept album of the music which was listed in “Our Favorite Musical Theatre Concept Albums of 2025” by What’s On Stage. 2&1: A Harlem Love Story with Loose Morals: The Concept Album is available on all major music streaming platforms.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Northern Caribbean University and has accumulated approximately nine years of experience working across hospitals, clinics, reference laboratories, and veterinary diagnostic settings. His technical expertise spans clinical chemistry, microbiology, and quality management, including leadership in ISO 17025 accreditation initiatives that enhanced laboratory quality and compliance.
