Definition of Neurodivergent Joy

Neurodivergent joy refers to the celebration and embrace of one’s neurodivergent identity—living authentically, thriving fully, and belonging unapologetically. Within higher education, this concept represents a shift from compliance-based approaches to truly inclusive learning environments that promote well-being, creativity, and success for neurodivergent students, faculty, and staff.

Neurodivergent joy can include sensory-friendly spaces, activities centered on special interests, or flexible ways for students to show what they’ve learned. This theme will guide the conference by shaping the sessions, workshops, and community-building activities.
