The Graduate Center is located ¼ mile from the NQR/BDFM subway line at Herald Sq, PATH rail at 33rdStreet, and 6 subway line at 33rd Street.
The building is located located ½ mile east from Penn Station (123/ACE, Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit, Amtrak) and ½ mile south from Grand Central Station (456/7/S, Metro-North rail).
The Herald Square subway station does have an elevator, as does Penn Station and Grand Central. You can check elevator status on the MTA website.
By Bus
Buses that stop within a one-block radius from the Graduate Center vertical campus include: M1, M2, M3, M4, M34, M34A, M55, BM5, QM21, BxM7, BxM8, BxM18, X27, X28, X37, X38, X63, X64, X68, SIM10, SIM31.

Access-A-Ride drops guests at the front entrance of the CUNY Graduate Center building/vertical campus. The northern-most door on Fifth Avenue is automated.
