Before You Begin

To be recognized at the 2026 Commencement ceremony, you must complete two steps:

1. register to attend through the email invitation sent by the school and
2. submit your Tassel form to ensure your name is pronounced correctly.

Please note: Only the names of those students who have registered to take part in the Commencement ceremony (either in-person or virtually) will be announced on May 28th.

If you are unsure if you've completed the full registration, please contact commencement@sps.cuny.edu as soon as possible.

Tassel Form

To submit your Tassel form, first look for an email from CUNY SPS with the subject line: Tassel Form Due by April 27 - Confirm Your Name Pronunciation for CUNY SPS Commencement.

Follow the directions in that email to access the CUNY SPS Tassel site, create your password, and complete your Tassel form. You will have the opportunity to:

1. review your name recording to ensure it is pronounced correctly when you are recognized,
2. give shout-outs to faculty,
3. create your graduate slide, 
4. share advice for future SPS students, and more. 

Name Recordings

Each student who has registered to attend the ceremony will be recognized individually by name during the ceremony. Tassel’s name recordings now utilize AI to provide graduating students with the opportunity to hear their name pronunciation during registration.

Graduating students will be able to regenerate three name recordings total. If none of the three recordings reflect a correct pronunciation, you will be able to record your name to be read by a professional name reader instead. 

Graduate Slides

For students who are attending online, your graduate slide will be shown on screen during the broadcast when you are recognized. 

For students who are attending in person, your stage crossing will be shown on screen during the ceremony. Your graduate slide may be shown prior to the ceremony as the audience is seated.

Graduates slides will be available to be downloaded and shared by graduates beginning May 28.
