Graduate Checklist
- To be considered for a degree or certificate and to obtain a diploma, candidates must file an application for graduation.
- The filing deadline for the fall 2025 and winter 2026 semesters was November 1, 2025. If you are part of one of those groups, please submit your application ASAP.
- The filing deadline for students completing degrees and certificates in the Spring 2026 semester is March 1, 2026.
- Graduates attending Commencement in person are expected to wear academic regalia (caps and gowns).
- Order your regalia online from the CUNY SPS page on Jostens at least 5 weeks prior to the ceremony date to ensure timely delivery.
This optional feature of Commencement is one that many of our graduates look forward too. Schedule your senior portrait sitting with Thornton Studios, and you'll get the chance to receive a professional headshot during the same sitting.
Apply to be Student Speaker; Deadline to Apply is March 17th
We invite bachelor’s or master’s degree students who graduated in August 2025 through June 2026 to apply to become the Student Speaker at the 2026 CUNY SPS Commencement ceremony.
Apply to Perform the National Anthem; Deadline to Apply is March 31st
All students at the CUNY School of Professional Studies are invited to apply to perform the National Anthem for the upcoming 2026 CUNY SPS Commencement ceremony. Applications must include information about your experience as a performer, as well as a video audition of yourself performing the National Anthem.
