Dr. Laura Ascenzi-Moreno is a Professor of Bilingual Education & Bilingual Program Coordinator, and dedicated to the development of teachers able to work with diverse populations. She worked in a dual language, bilingual program as a teacher (K-2) and coach. Her research focuses on emergent bilinguals' literacy development and the development of teacher knowledge, and how these intersect with equity. Her research interests include translanguaging, reading instruction, biliteracy, multi-modalities, and assessment. Her publications are found in The Reading Teacher, the Journal of Literacy Research, Literacy Research & Instruction, Language Arts, Literacy Now among others.
