Dyncie Valdez, MSW, is a Black-Dominican, independent scholar, a poet, and creative writer. She completed her Masters of Social Work degree with a concentration in Community Organizing, Planning, and Development from Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work. She specializes in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Race & Identity Development. Ms. Valdez recently authored Post-Mendez (1947) and Brown (1954): An Examination of the Impact of Segregation on Students of Color in the 21st Century.
