Dr. Guishard (she/her/hers) is the Bronx Community College (BCC) BRESI Jumpstart Mentor. She is the first and only tenured Black woman Associate Professor of Psychology within BCC's Social Sciences Department. Dr. Guishard chairs the BCC Senate's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Dr. Guishard is a Black womanist community social psychologist, abolitionist educator, qualitative research ethicist, and organizer. She identifies as Afro-Latine/x (Yoruba & Caribbean).She is an entirely CUNY educated scholar (BCC, Herbert H. Lehman College, Hunter College, & The CUNY Graduate & University Center). Guishard's research has focused on Black womxn & Black girlhood studies, anti-racist pedagogies, minoritized persons' health, critical autoethnography, participatory action and patient-centered research. Guishard is passionate about building communities of care to unsettle white supremacy culture.
