Robin A. Harper is Professor of Political Science at CUNY’s York College. My research focuses on comparative public policy. I am especially intrigued by questions concerning the meaning of citizenship, belonging, borders, and temporary labor migration, and how public policy can promote, hinder, or prevent immigrant inclusion and exclusion. I began my dual Master's work at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and the George Washington University. Before returning to academia to earn my doctorate in Political Science from the CUNY Graduate Center, I worked in the public sector as Deputy Director of the NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs and Language Services and as Policy Supervisor for Social Services and Immigrant Affairs at the NYC Office of Management & Budget. I served as a Policy Analyst as a Robert Bosch Fellow in Germany in the Berlin Senate Office of Integration Affairs.
