Dr. Meral Kaya is a faculty in Childhood, Bilingual and Special Education (CBSE) at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She teaches undergraduate and graduate children’s literature and literacy method courses. She is also the site coordinator of student teaching program focusing on innovative clinical experience in teacher education. Her areas of expertise and research are children’s literature, multicultural children’s literature, literacy instruction, teacher education, reflective teaching, bilingual education, culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy, and integrating art into teaching language arts.
