Claudia Hernandez Feiks is an Associate Professor and co-Director of the Bachelor of Architecture Program at the New York City College of Technology. Her contributions to the college have focused on equity and inclusion initiatives. In her role as co-Director of the Bachelors of Architecture Degree Program, and in collaboration with Prof. Ting Chin, Prof. Hernandez is spearheading the process of acquiring the department's first nationally accredited professional degree. Additionally, she has been heavily involved in developing, launching and sustaining multiple mentorship programs including the NYAL Mentorship Program, AIA Women in Architecture Student Mentoring session and the Perkins Peer Mentor Program. Her personal research practice centers on the study of the emergence of new design typologies in urban contexts as a result of socio-economic influences and their aesthetic articulation particularly mediated by technological infrastructures. Her academic research has focused on identifying strategies to connect concept development to the formal articulation of the built environment.
