Anita Giraldo is an associate professor in the Communication Design program at the New York City College of Technology (City Tech). Since beginning at City Tech in 2010, she has taught design courses across all levels of the program; developed curriculum; designed and implemented The Pearl Design Study Center, a $5 Million capital project; expanded reach and influence of the student design team at the college’s faculty resource center; serves in College Council’s Technology Committee and developed numerous student success initiatives in her department. She has won five PSC CUNY RF grants and her art and design projects have been exhibited at public museums, galleries and art spaces throughout New York City and the US. She is currently working on a multi-media installation utilizing Augmented Reality technology to create a nuanced past-to-present experience of the life of a centenarian in South America.
