                                                    Nicole Beth Wallenbrock PhD is very proud to be an Assistant Professor of French at Hostos
Community College. She has been teaching French since 2002, and has also taught many courses
in film. She has taught at 8 CUNY campuses, and at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and
Syracuse University. Her inclusive classes are all student-centered and build classroom
communities. Wallenbrock wrote The Franco-Algerian War Through a Twenty-First Century
Lens (Bloomsbury, 2020) and co-edited Migrants’ Perspective, Migrants in Perspective: World
Film (Edinburgh University Press, 2021). She is a 2022-2023 Faculty Fellow at the Center for
Place, Culture, and Politics
