Joni Schwartz-Chaney has a Ph.D. in the Sociological Foundations of Adult Education from Rutgers University. Currently she teaches race and communication courses at LaGuardia and John Jay Graduate School as well an array of public speaking courses. Her research and writing engages race, education, and critical race theory. She is currently writing Critical Faith: Critical Race Theory & the Church to be published by Fortress Press in fall 2023.
