Dr Mathews is Chair of the Department for Ethnic and Race Studies at BMCC and Professor of Anthropology and Latin American Studies at BMCC and the Graduate Center. Her areas of research include indigenous women, migration and transnationalism, tourism and social exclusion, identity and belonging in the Andean region of South America.
