Andrea Francis is a Professor in the Business & Technology Department at LaGuardia where she teaches Accounting, the First Year Seminar for Business, and mentors the Finance Club. Professor Francis is a graduate of the University of Cape Town and holds a Bachelor of Business Science with majors in Accounting and Finance (Honors), and a MS Accounting from Baruch College. She also holds the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations. Her research interests include financial literacy and the scholarship of teaching and learning. More recently, her research has focused on racial disparities within the accounting field and an autoethnographic work in progress about the evolution of her identity growing up in apartheid South Africa and then emigrating to the US. Before joining LaGuardia, Professor Francis worked at Deloitte in New York and South Africa.
