Sophia Hsu is an Assistant Professor of English and the co-coordinator of the Writing Across the Curriculum Program at Lehman College. She specializes in nineteenth-century British literature and is currently completing her monograph on race and population in the Victorian novel. Her research has been published or is forthcoming in Victorian Literature and Culture, Victorian Studies, Studies in English Literature, Dickens Studies Annual, and Victorian Review. She is also the co-founder of Undisciplining the Victorian Classroom, a digital humanities project that reimagines how to teach Victorian studies through a positive, race-conscious lens.
