Professor F. Warren Benton is President of the Faculty Senate of John Jay College. He co-directs the Northeast Slavery Records Index. He was Chair of the Department of Public Management and Director of the graduate MPA program for more than 20 years. Since 2002 he served as the Court’s Compliance Monitor in U.S. v. Puerto Rico, a civil rights consent decree about youth corrections. He served in the same role in U.S. v. Michigan.
