Rafiana Martinez is a Nuyorican poet, writer, and mother to three children. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with High Honors from Lehman College and currently attends Columbia University’s MFA program for Poetry. She has performed her poetry at Stone Soup open mic, ¡La Esquina! open mic, Nuyorican Poets Café, and has featured at Inspired word NYC Voices. She is Editor of Obscura’s Literary and Arts Magazine Chapbook titled Poetry in the Times of Covid. She is published in Columbia University’s Latinx Literary Magazine LHM Vol. 1, In Protest through Poetry 2021 and The Latino Book Review 2022. She is the recipient of The Grace C. Croff Memorial Prize for Poetry, and The Ruth Kolbe Mischkind Scholarship for students with great promise and high GPA.
