Mary Ann Biehl is Professor and former Chair of the Department of Communication Design (2009 -2018). Her teaching focuses on Visual Communications, Typography, Corporate Identity, and Information Design. Prof. Biehl serves as Design Director for City Tech’s Faculty Common.. She holds a Master of Science degree from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from St. John’s University. In addition to her academic activities, Prof. Biehl’s creative interests focus on several lines of visual inquiry, including climate change’s impact on marine species and their environments, food choices and the ever changing landscape of twenty-first century New York City. Her work has received recognition through exhibitions at distinguished educational, arts and science centers including the New York Hall of Science, National Weather Center at Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, University of Oklahoma, SciArt Center of New York, Norwalk Maritime Garage Gallery, and the Rhode Island School of Design.
