Please submit a completed application by the appropriate filing deadline listed below to be reviewed for graduation and invited to participate in the School's annual Commencement ceremony.

NOTE: Attending the Spring 2025 ceremony REQUIRES a separate RSVP. The invitation to RSVP will be sent via email in early spring, and will only be sent after your application has been approved by the Registrar's office. 

How to Apply for Graduation:

When applying, please keep in mind:

  • You are responsible for ensuring that the information you submit is correct and free from typos.
  • The application review is a lengthy process as each application is reviewed individually. Students will be contacted via their CUNY SPS email address if any issues arise.
  • Please do not submit multiple applications. The review process takes time and duplicate applications create further delays. If you are not certain if you submitted your application correctly, or if you have questions, please contact the Registrar's office directly.
  • Graduation applications are processed AFTER the filing deadline.
  • Exact dates for degree/certificate awards may be found in the Academic Calendar
  • If a filing date falls on as weekend, applications are due the following business day without penalty.

Special circumstances:

  • Students who have no more than two remaining courses to complete their degree requirements at the end of the Spring semester are permitted to participate in Commencement. To do so, the student must be registered for the final course(s) in the Summer term.
