The CUNY SPS Psychology Program’s Day in the Life series provides students with an opportunity to learn about and speak directly with, those actively working in various subdisciplines in Psychology. Our first spring event features Dr. Chelsea Hansen, an experienced clinician and educator whose current work focuses on understanding and improving the lives of neurodiverse people and their families.
Dr. Hansen has worked in higher education for 16 years. She has served as a Provost, Dean, Department Chair, and faculty member. She has served as an educational consultant for government employees on topics including stress reduction, coping mechanisms, and processing trauma related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In her clinical work, Dr. Hansen has served clients in recovery from opioid dependence, specializing in trauma. She has also worked with neurodiverse children in both home and educational settings and has received training at the Koegel Autism Center. Dr. Hansen currently works for CUNY SPS as a full-time faculty member in the Psychology department.
