This interactive 50-minute virtual session, co-presented by neurodivergent EKC Board Member Gisela Sanders-Alcntara and Program Manager Cristina Nava-Sosa, highlights the transformative power of culturally responsive, gender-centered programming for neurodivergent youth and their families. EKC is leading the charge in reimagining inclusive programming by integrating cultural bilingual competency and gender empowerment as central pillars for social-emotional development. Drawing from personal experiences, emerging research, and specific case studies of family members of our organization, the session explores how programs that embrace bilingual, bicultural frameworks foster brave spaces where neurodivergent individuals redefine success on their own terms. Special attention is given to the challenges and strengths of Spanish-speaking neurodivergent youth, illustrating how cultural pride and linguistic inclusivity enhance identity formation and accessibility. Through partnerships with local libraries and the Center for All Abilities, EKC exemplifies how bilingual staff and cultural alignment deepen community engagement and trust. The session will also spotlight innovative gender-centered initiatives, such as Anime Crew and Maker Girls, that empower neurodivergent girls and gender-expansive youth through arts-based activities. Attendees will gain insights into cross-community collaboration and the importance of integrating diverse cultural, linguistic, and neurodiverse perspectives to build inclusive ecosystems. This session is aimed at all interested adults in related issues, care givers, college age students and advocates committed to fostering bravery, self-advocacy, and storytelling.
