Speaker Bio
Dr. Giselle Gourrier has worked in the field of psychology for over 30 years in sunny California. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Communications from the University of Southern California (U.S.C.), a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Alliant University (formerly known as The California School of Professional Psychology). She currently teaches several Psychology, Human Services, Cultural Diversity and Communication courses across several teaching modalities.

Her past professional experience includes management of several dual diagnosis programs, specifically for clients who have both substance abuse and mental health issues, coupled with involvement with Children's Protective Services, Probation and/or the Criminal Justice System. Prior to this, she worked extensively with the juvenile court system and was instrumental in developing the policies and implementation plan of one of the first juvenile drug courts in the nation. Upon implementation, the program was awarded the “Most Innovative Program of the Year,” by the Department of Mental Health as well as the team was recognized in a 2-page spread in the January 2003 edition of Times Magazine. Her areas of expertise include psychology, drug and alcohol addictions, cultural diversity, multi-cultural and community issues, cross-cultural counseling, child and family therapy, and hypnotherapy. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her loving husband, her 21-year-old son, two very active cats (Scooter, a Ragdoll and Zoey, a crazy mutt), a pint of ice cream, and a game of Phase 10.
