Michelle Kong, M.A., CCC-SLP is a dedicated professional with more than ten years of experience as a bilingual speech-language pathologist. She spent a decade working with students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, providing tailored support to help them thrive. After honing her expertise in clinical practice, Ms. Kong transitioned into higher education, where she now serves as the Coordinator for Autism and Neurodivergent Services in the ACCES Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Program (within the Neurodiversity Program Office) at LaGuardia Community College. In her current role, Ms. Kong is committed to supporting neurodivergent students in their academic journey, offering guidance and resources to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed. Additional Presenter: Syria Brown- Life Skills Coach, Joseph Schick- Student Support Coordinator | Syria Brown is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and Master of the Arts in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Brooklyn College in New York City. While acquiring her masters she interned at LaGuardia Community College before being hired as a Mental Health Counselor in the Wellness Center for 2 years. She is currently an ASSES Pre-Ets Life Skills Coach at LaGuardia Community College in the Neurodiversity Program and is interested in topics including neurodiversity, attachment styles and sociocultural factors that impact mental health and development. She has worked in college settings with college aged people for 4 years. Ms. Brown is passionate about being a resource to the students and assisting them with achieving their authentic goals and aspirations for a better mental health.::: Joseph Schick received his master's degree in counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University in 2019 and has six years of experience working as a counselor. He has worked with adults of all ages. He completed his graduate internship at The Wellness Center in LaGuardia Community College. Joseph continued to work in LaGuardia as a college counselor before moving to the school�s Neurodiversity Program. Joseph also works as a therapist for Nassau Psychology, a group practice in Long Island.
