Amanda A. Ebokosia is Founder & CEO of The Gem Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that works to improve high school and college student engagement and on-time graduation through service, while diversifying the education talent pool through a social justice approach. Since inception, The Gem Project has directly impacted the lives of 2000 youth and young adults.

Honored by The White House, The City of Newark and making the annual FORBES Magazine 30 under 30 list, Ebokosia and her team have demonstrated a great ability to engage communities and young people in ways that develop their leadership skills, which have the capacity to change their lives. The Gem Project and Ebokosia have been featured in National Journal, The Atlantic Media, News 12 New Jersey, Black Enterprise.com, Forbes Magazine, Forbes.com, GOOD magazine, NJ.com, Rutgers Magazine and others.

Ebokosia earned a BA at Rutgers University - Newark and an MA degree in Youth Studies at the CUNY School of Professional Studies. Ebokosia has also completed the Rutgers Institute of Ethical Leadership’s Nonprofit Executive Leaders track at the Rutgers Business School in Newark, New Jersey. For the past 3 years, she had also served on the board at Rutgers University Alumni Association and currently on Associate Board at the United Neighborhood Houses.

Amanda Ebokosia is also an adjunct lecturer for Bronx Community College.
