Alethia Rael is an Amer-Indigenous ARTIVIST (activist+artist.) Her artistry includes: writing/poetry/painting/self expression through clothing/media making/skating. Alethia has been a long time youth organizer with Fierce, Hispanic AIDS Forum,
Girls for Gender Equity Being and Global Action Project (GAP). At GAP, Alethia was trained in how to use media tools that can often be used to oppress and repress marginalized narratives, as a form of liberation. Although GAP closed their doors in 2020, Alethia and other GAP youth and staff transformed it into worker-owned Media making company called Shadow Work Media. Shadow Work Media sheds a light on conversations, narratives and lived experiences that are often rejected/ignored.
