Cole Denisen, PhD, is a faculty member at Landmark College specializing in neurodiversity studies, critical disability studies, and higher education. His scholarship examines how dominant norms shape knowledge, institutions, and authority, and he introduced the concept of neurotypical perspectivelessness to describe how neurotypical experience becomes treated as neutral or universal. His work centers neurodivergent epistemologies, participatory and community-engaged research, and justice-oriented teaching practices. He has published in New Ideas in Psychology and serves in leadership and editorial roles with the College Autism Network and the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice. His research and teaching focus on building neurodiversity-affirming institutions and educational practices.
