Dr. Hoiland is an associate professor of sociology at Hostos Community College, Grants Director for the CUNY Academy at the Graduate Center, and Principal Investigator and Project Director of the HOPE Project. Her first monograph, Righteous Sisterhood, is forthcoming (Temple University Press 2024). Her PhD and MA are from The New School for Social Research and her current research interests include women and subcultures, race, parenting students, and prison education pedagogy.
