Dr. Emmanuel Egbe was educated at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and later at the University of Tulsa, in Oklahoma where he graduated BS in Business in 1977 and MBA in 1979 specializing in business quantitative methods. Later Dr. Egbe attended Washington State University in Pullman, Washington and graduated with a MA (1983) and a PhD in Economics, specializing in econometrics (1984).

Dr. Chinyere Emmanuel Egbe is an economist and currently a tenured full professor of Business at Medgar Evers College (CUNY) where he has taught business statistics and finance since 1989 and also a Consortial Faculty of the Business Program at the CUNY School of Professional Studies. At the SPS, Dr. Egbe teaches Business Mathematics and Economics. During his tenure at the College Dr. Egbe held various positions including Deputy Chairperson (1992-97) and Dean of the School of Business (1997-2002). While he was dean, he led the School to complete a self-study that eventually enabled the School of Business to gain national accreditation through the Accreditation Council for Schools of Business and Programs (ACBSP) in 2003 and led the faculty of the School to achieve reaffirmation in 2014; Dr. Egbe also wrote proposals that established new degree programs including the BPS and the BS in Financial Economics. Dr. Egbe successfully led the faculty of Economics and Finance to establish the first fully (100%) online BS Degree program in Medgar Evers College.

Dr. Egbe completed a major research study on Transportation Impediments to Job Access for Low Income Residents in Brooklyn and Queens and also completed several statistical surveys on the economic development of the Crown Heights neighborhood around the College. Dr. Egbe also established the Brooklyn International Trade and Development Center from 2006 – 2011 and has also conducted research from which he published papers in various journals and presented research findings at many conferences.

Dr. Egbe has been actively involved in the activities of the Accreditation Council for Schools of Business and Programs (ACBSP), an internationally acclaimed educational organization, along with the AACSB, that provides accreditation in business education to higher education institutions around the world and served as Regional President (Region 1) of the ACBSP and served in the Council of Regional Presidents from 2010 – 2012.

Dr. Egbe is also an avid student of history, especially military history and the history of human conflicts.
