Speaker Bio
Michele has been in the L&D field long enough to have moved through title changes, from curriculum developer to instructional designer to learning experience designer. She was an independent contractor for over 25 years. She currently works with the SPS Office of Innovative Learning Solutions (ILS) to support L&D efforts of the NYC Administration for Children’s Services Workforce Institute as the Sr. Instructional Designer.

Michele believes her primary L&D strength is developing learning strategies and informing related content. She has an extensive professional portfolio featuring projects completed for diverse educational and non-profit organizations, media companies, corporations, and higher education. Additional professional experience includes managerial roles in non-profits, grant writing, training, and program development.

Michele has done some cool things: She was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Democratic Republic of Congo, established two school gardens in Brooklyn, one of which was featured in Michelle Obama’s gardening book, American Grown, raised over 1.6 million dollars for school programs, and has been published.

Michele is also a lifelong learner, recently acquiring an Instructional Design and Technology certificate from Bloomsburg University and pursuing a competency-based education certificate.
