Memory Ndanga, PhD, RHIA, is the Academic Program Director for Health Information Management Program at CUNY SPS. She is credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). Prior to joining SPS full-time she was an SPS adjunct faculty, she worked at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital as a manager in health information management. She served on several committees including the Institutional Review Board. She began her academia role as adjunct faculty at Rutgers University where she held various positions including instructor, lecturer, assistant professor and interim program director for the Health Information Management program. Her dual role also included clinical placement and clinical contract negotiations.
Dr. Ndanga earned her BS in HIM at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ and subsequently received a Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics and a PhD in Health Informatics from Rutgers University. Her research focused on analysis of healthcare outcomes.
She served on the New Jersey Health Information Management Association board as secretary and state delegate, authored several scholarly articles, textbook reviewer and participated on the American Health Information Management (AHIMA) work groups. Dr. Ndanga has been a speaker at the American Health Information Management Association Convention and Exhibit, AHIMA Assembly on Education, NJHIMA State Conference and various state conferences.
